The technology
- Our technology uses proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence to assess signs of early dementia from the gait (walking patterns), as well as the daily (therapeutic) activity and changes.
- By measuring the gait, we can not only identify the early onset of dementia but also progression of the disease.
The need
- No existing technology to our knowledge that will allow people to identify the early onset of dementia.
- Disempowers people from preparing themselves and family for transitions in life as a result of dementia.
- With a rapidly growing group of people above 65, currently sitting at approximately 740 million, this is a significant challenge.
- Globally, approximately 1 in 10 people above 65 years old suffer from dementia, and this increases to 3 from 10 that are above 85 years old.
The benefits
- Proper neurological assessment that can occur early.
- Early commencement of specific therapy to support people suffering dementia.
- Applying approaches to support people including for the prevention of getting lost.
